Stanley, a member of the New Temperance Society, decides to visit a speakeasy to witness the evils of drink firsthand. He enters with a bottle of whiskey, immediately drawing the attention of the club's ex-boxer boss. The boss warns him to behave, resulting in Stanley receiving a black eye and a steak to calm his nerves.

Chaos in the Speakeasy

Stanley's final attempt to order spirits results in a spilled glass that burns the table, prompting his immediate ejection.

It's 3:00 AM at the Firewater Club, and Stanley has had more than enough to drink. When he tries to take over leading the orchestra, the manager - a former boxer - lets him know that he needs to restrain himself. But it's not long before Stanley causes another disruption anyway, and when he then tries to dance with the manager's wife, the manager's patience finally runs out.
