Elio / Other Elio (played by Yonas Kibreab) is a protagonist in Elio.
Elio Solís is an orphaned boy who lives with his aunt Olga and longs to meet extraterrestrial life. After being abducted, he is mistaken for Earth's leader and negotiates with Grigon to protect the Communiverse. His clone, Other Elio, temporarily replaces him on Earth, later sacrificing himself to help Elio rescue Glordon. Glordon (played by Remy Edgerly) is a protagonist in Elio.
Glordon is Lord Grigon's son, but he does not want to become a war machine like his father. After meeting Elio during his imprisonment, he becomes his friend and ally. Elio tries to protect him from Grigon, while Glordon's damaged temperature-regulating disc places his life in danger during the return to Earth. Lord Grigon (played by Brad Garrett) appears in Elio.
Lord Grigon is a warlord who was rejected by the Communiverse and later attempts to seize it by force. He imprisons Elio and sends troops to recover Glordon, his son. After seeing Glordon in danger, Grigon abandons his aggression, saves him by opening his warsuit, and apologizes to him and the ambassadors. Caleb (played by Jake T. Getman) appears in Elio.
Caleb is Bryce's bully friend and participates in harassing Elio. He helps tamper with Elio's ham radio, an incident that leads to the fight injuring Elio's left eye.
