The Banishment Ultimatum
In 1989-90 Kashmir, militants move through the valley forcing Kashmiri Pandits to convert, leave, or die. Pushkar Nath Pandit fears for himself and his family when his son is accused of spying for India. Even an attempt to secure official protection leaves his allies powerless.

The Nadimarg False Flag
Pushkar's family follows a government posting to Nadimarg in Kashmir, where a calm life is soon shattered. Bitta's militants arrive disguised as the Indian Army and round up the Pandit residents. One mother is horrifically killed after resisting, villagers are forced into a mass grave, and Pushkar is left as a lone messenger.

Ashes, Lies and an Unforgiving Speech
In 2020, Pushkar's household keeps painful memories while professor Radhika Menon steers the young heir toward separatist politics. After Pushkar's death the ashes must be scattered in Kashmir, leading to a confrontational meeting with Bitta and a discovery of Pushkar's newspaper proof. The younger Pandit's final campus speech exposes the full history, stunning Menon and eventually winning applause.
