Plot Progression

1. The Birth of Violence — A household accident kills Big Ed's wife and triggers his psychological collapse. His grief and rage establish the violent history behind the later massacre.
2. A Dangerous Retreat — Years later, a group of friends travels to the Atlantic Beach condominium for fall break. Unknown to them, Big Ed is already hiding in the basement and preparing an attack.
3. The Clubhouse Massacre — Big Ed kills Linda, Mike, Ralph, and Sue with pool and nautical weapons. Their bodies are placed in the basement as the condominium becomes a trap.
4. The Hidden Remains — Pam and her companion discover the stored bodies and hide as Big Ed approaches. Big Ed finds them and stabs the surviving companion in the leg.
5. The Concrete Reckoning — Pam attacks Big Ed and uses a car to drive him into a concrete wall. Police arrive, but Big Ed makes one final attack before dying, after which Pam reaches the hospital.
