Plot Progression

1. A Costly Meal — Thor and Loki take shelter at a farmhouse, where Thor offers a goat for dinner. Loki's manipulation causes the goat to become lame and leads to the boy's departure for Asgard.
2. Life Behind Divine Walls — Røskva follows the group to Asgard, but the household offers little freedom or wonder. Loki brings Quark home, and his destructive behavior drives Sif away.
3. The Forest Refuge — Røskva and the other children escape Loki and try to obtain help at Valhalla. Rejected there, they create a treehouse until prophetic visions reveal Thor's threatened future.
4. Trials Beyond Appearance — Thor forcibly reunites the group and travels to Utgard. A series of impossible challenges humiliates him while hidden magical meanings remain concealed.
5. Tears, Tricks, and Reunion — The children recognize the illusions, and Røskva's tears restore Thor from apparent death. Loki deceives the jötunns, while Quark eventually escapes and reunites with Røskva.
