Character Relationships in South Park

Eric Cartman / Stan Marsh (played by Trey Parker) is a protagonist in South Park. Stan is an average American boy who has faced many mishaps and lived in South Park for 22 seasons before moving to Tegridy Farms. Eric Cartman is amoral, increasingly psychopathic, and often serves as an antagonist whose staunch antisemitism drives a progressive rivalry with Kyle. Kyle Broflovski / Kenny McCormick (played by Matt Stone) is a protagonist in South Park. Kyle is Jewish and one of the few Jews in South Park, often satirized for this status. He is Stan's best friend, reflecting the creators' real-life friendship. Kenny hails from a poor family, wears a hood that obscures his face and muffles his speech, and has died sporadically throughout the series, including a temporary death in season five before his return.
