Plot Progression

1. Arrival Behind the Robe — Thomas enters St. Marks Baths, pays for a room, deposits his valuables, and observes the strange atmosphere around him. His apparent familiarity later proves false.
2. An Unwanted Invitation — A middle-aged visitor approaches Thomas and attempts to create intimacy through conversation and drinks. Mavis and Taffy's group adds a loud, intrusive social presence.
