Plot Progression

1. Three Voices of Exile — The film introduces three separate stories about undocumented immigrants in the United States. Each story centers on separation, fear, and the consequences of immigration status.
2. A Child's Fear — Jasmine lives in fear that her parents will be deported. The tension comes from the constant threat hanging over her family.
3. Sisters Divided — Evelyn and Elizabeth are separated by their different immigration statuses. Their relationship is shaped by distance and inequality.
4. From Deportation to Activism — José Eduardo Aguilar is deported to Mexico at age 23. He later transforms that experience into activism and defense for other deportees.
