How does Daylight end?

In the final act ("The Final Blowout"): With the tunnel nearly submerged, Kit plans a controlled explosion to breach the roof. He gets trapped in mud during the blast, but Maddy keeps him afloat until a boat rescues them. Kit reunites George's bracelet with his girlfriend Grace, and the two survivors depart together.
