Plot Progression

1. The Buried Origin — Researchers conduct tests on local people at a remote island outpost. A local priest opens a hellgate in retaliation, causing the dead to rise and destroying the research settlement.
2. Jenny Returns — Jenny survives the original massacre with a magical necklace charm and returns years later. She brings a mercenary group to uncover what happened to her parents, but their boat strands them.
3. The Curse Awakens — Tommy is bitten after attacking the first zombie. Elsewhere, Chuck, David, and Valerie enter the temple and accidentally revive the curse, leading to the deaths of David and Valerie.
4. The Shelter Falls — Chuck joins Jenny's group in the abandoned medical quarters, where they arm themselves for a new undead assault. A chain of bites transforms Louise, Rod, and Mad, while Dan is mortally wounded.
5. The Final Sacrifice — Dan destroys the facility so Jenny and Chuck can escape. At the temple, Chuck is killed, and Jenny throws her charm into the hellgate before becoming a zombie.
