Plot Progression

1. Return to the Haunted House — Philip returns to Norfolk and moves into the damaged home shared with Maurice. Possum repeatedly returns after Philip tries to discard it, while childhood memories begin resurfacing.
2. The Puppet and the Past — Philip discovers his childhood picture book about Possum and suffers disturbing visions. Maurice intensifies the pressure by mocking his career and forcing him to revisit childhood bullying.
3. A Missing Boy's Shadow — Michael is reported missing after Philip encountered him on the train. Suspicion falls on Philip as the local community and school react uneasily to his presence.
