Plot Progression

1. A Horn In The Desert — David Mann begins a business trip and encounters the dilapidated tanker. Passing maneuvers and the truck's horn establish an unexplained road confrontation.
2. The Road Becomes Hostile — The tanker blocks David's attempts to pass and forces him into dangerous driving. A high-speed tailgate ends with David crashing near a diner.
3. No Safe Stopping Place — David wrongly suspects a diner patron, then realizes the truck driver was never inside. His attempt to help a stranded school bus leads to another escape.
4. Trapped Between Threats — The truck pushes David toward a freight train and later waits for him on the highway. A phone-booth attack proves that stopping for help is also dangerous.
