Story Structure — 5 Plot Phases

A Warning From Tomorrow

A strange disturbance and a future-dated boarding pass signal that reality is becoming unstable. A laboratory breach and the disappearance of classified Alpha String technology bring Dr. Daniel Winter under suspicion.

Key Events

• The Strange Disturbance — Mark and Melanie confront a strange disturbance accompanied by violent noise. Characters: Mark, Melanie Location: Unspecified location
• The Future Boarding Pass — Melanie discovers a boarding pass dated for the following day. Characters: Melanie Location: Unspecified location
• Laboratory Guard Found — Security personnel find a guard unconscious inside a laboratory. Location: Laboratory
• Alpha String Missing — Officials learn that something connected to the classified project is missing. Location: Laboratory
• Winter Becomes Suspect — Authorities identify Dr. Daniel Winter as a central suspect. Characters: Dr. Daniel Winter Location: Investigation center

The Flight Interception

Caleb is pulled away from his family vacation to join Quinn's emergency operation. The authorities intercept Flight 507, but Caleb's caution is overruled and the plane vanishes.

Key Events

• Emergency Deployment Ordered — An operations team is ordered to locate Caleb and respond to the Level 5 breach. Characters: Caleb Smith, Quinn Location: Operations center
• Flight 507 Prepares — Caleb and Claire prepare to take Flight 507 to Mexico City with their family. Characters: Caleb Smith, Claire Smith Location: Airport
• Caleb Answers the Call — Caleb receives the emergency call and leaves despite Claire's protest. Characters: Caleb Smith, Claire Smith Location: Airport
• Flight Intercepted — The flight is turned around under a false hydraulic-problem explanation and escorted by fighter jets. Characters: Caleb Smith, Claire Smith, Quinn Location: Airspace near the airport
• Caleb Warns Quinn — Caleb warns that interception could make Winter react dangerously. Characters: Caleb Smith, Quinn Location: Operations center
• Quinn Rejects Caution — Quinn refuses to cancel the interception and prioritizes recovery and custody. Characters: Caleb Smith, Quinn Location: Operations center

The Vortex Unleashed

Investigators identify a massive atmospheric wormhole linked to null-space. Failed scans and a destroyed pulse-bomb aircraft show that conventional methods cannot contain it.

Key Events

• The Plane Disappears — Flight 507 disappears, leaving investigators without a clear explanation. Characters: Caleb Smith, Claire Smith, Quinn Location: Airspace
• Electromagnetic Anomaly Detected — Investigators detect an electromagnetic anomaly near the plane's last known location. Characters: Quinn, Tesslor Location: Flight 507's last known position
• Wormhole Theory Emerges — Tesslor identifies the phenomenon as resembling a giant wormhole interacting with the atmosphere. Characters: Tesslor, Quinn Location: Investigation center
• Helicopters Are Lost — Attempts to scan the vortex result in the loss of two helicopters. Characters: Tesslor, Quinn Location: The expanding vortex
• The Vortex Connects Dimensions — The expanding vortex creates an electrical connection with null-space. Characters: Tesslor Location: Atmospheric vortex
• Pulse Bomb Attempt Fails — A pulse bomb fails to destroy the vortex, and the carrying aircraft is destroyed. Characters: Quinn, Tesslor Location: Airspace near the vortex

East Burrough Falls

The vortex expands toward East Burrough, annihilating the town and forcing mass evacuations. Caleb and Allison search for a second control unit while evidence points to a larger covert operation.

Key Events

• East Burrough Evacuates — The growing vortex annihilates East Burrough and drives mass evacuations. Characters: Quinn, Tesslor Location: East Burrough
• The Second Controller Search — Caleb and Allison work together to find a second control unit. Characters: Caleb Smith, Allison Curran Location: Investigation area
• Black-Ops Evidence Found — Evidence from a gun links an unidentified operative to black-ops and special-forces activity. Characters: Caleb Smith, Allison Curran Location: Investigation area
• A Leak Inside STC — Investigators discover a suspected leak inside STC and learn that Quinn is under surveillance. Characters: Caleb Smith, Quinn Location: STC
• Winter's Bank Vault — Caleb reaches a bank vault connected to Dr. Daniel Winter. Characters: Caleb Smith, Dr. Daniel Winter Location: Bank vault

The Stolen Solution

Caleb reaches a vault connected to Winter as investigators uncover an internal leak and surveillance of Quinn. The second controller is stolen, leaving the vortex uncontrolled and Caleb's family in uncertain danger.

Key Events

• Winter's Bank Vault — Caleb reaches a bank vault connected to Dr. Daniel Winter. Characters: Caleb Smith, Dr. Daniel Winter Location: Bank vault
• Restricted Power Cell Mission — A volunteer enters a restricted area to replace a power cell during the emergency effort. Characters: Caleb Smith, Allison Curran Location: Restricted area
• The Controller Is Stolen — The second controller is stolen, leaving the vortex uncontrolled. Characters: Caleb Smith, Allison Curran, Quinn Location: Restricted area
• Family Fate Unresolved — The crisis ends with the fate of Caleb's family unresolved. Characters: Caleb Smith, Claire Smith Location: Uncontrolled vortex zone
