A newly appointed L.A. lead detective investigating a series of prostitute murders. He partners with Deacon, becomes convinced of Sparma's guilt, and lures him to the desert. After Sparma taunts him, Baxter kills him with a shovel. He struggles to bury the body and search for the victim until Deacon sends him a red barrette.
