The corrupt local sheriff in Fort Griffin who ignores warrants to release notorious outlaws Ike Clanton and Johnny Ringo. Later in Tombstone, he attempts to bribe Marshal Wyatt Earp with $20,000 to permit the shipment of stolen Mexican cattle, but is firmly rebuffed.
