Tom's hardworking wife and partner in managing their struggling family farm. While Tom is away, she suffers a severe accident on the farm, losing significant blood and nearly her arm. She visits Tom in the city to cope with their hardships, confronts him about his stubborn fight against the river and Wade, and ultimately rallies with the family to help repair the damaged levee.
