The brutal captain of the guards who initially abuses inmates but becomes reliant on Andy's financial help. He brutally cripples Bogs Diamond for attacking Andy and later, under the warden's orders, murders Tommy Williams to silence him. He is eventually arrested by state police following the warden's downfall.
