The protagonist, a grown man and doctor living in the Netherlands who returns to his childhood home in Curaçao. He reflects on his youth during the 1970s colonial unrest, particularly observing his father Bubu's domino games and union activities. Years later, he comes back to confront his father's killer through a final game of dominoes.
