Leader of a Republican patrol that captures the protagonists. He organizes the surviving mix of soldiers and refugees to investigate the zombie outbreak and reach a laboratory. Realizing the valley is sealed off, he makes tactical sacrifices and ultimately holds off the horde alone to allow the group to escape on a train.
