A companion of Tahei, described as a desperate peasant who sells his home to become a soldier. He reunites with Tahei as a prisoner and helps carry the Akizuki clan's gold under Rokurota's command. His greed and fear cause multiple complications during the trek. He attempts to betray the general for a bounty, but ultimately escapes to Hayakawa, where he shares a single reward coin with Tahei.
