The estranged son of Henry and Helen, hospitalized with a brain tumor causing anterograde amnesia. After running away 20 years ago following arguments over music, the Vietnam draft, and a flag-burning protest, he reconnects with his father through music therapy. He attends a Grateful Dead concert to form new memories and later recalls the experience at his father's funeral.
