Protagonist and British DJ/producer who experiences rapid hearing loss. Initially in denial, he descends into depression and drug abuse after becoming permanently deaf. He learns to perceive music through visual and tactile means, creates a new mix CD, and eventually finds peace living quietly with his partner while teaching deaf children to experience sound.
