A deaf woman Frankie meets at an organization. She coaches him in lip-reading, becomes his intimate partner, and helps him adapt to his deafness using visual and tactile methods. She disapproves of his manager's insensitive exploitation of his disability and ultimately leaves the music business with him to start a family.
