A filmmaker and Zubeidaa's father. He discovers his daughter's secret acting career, disapproves of it, and forces her into a marriage with his friend's son, Dr. Mehboob Alam. His conflict with Mehboob's father indirectly leads to Zubeidaa's divorce, setting the stage for her subsequent life changes.
