A Baldwin-Felts detective sent to Matewan to harass miners and evict union members. He plots to frame Joe Kenehan, threatens Danny Radnor, acts dismissively during Danny's church sermon, and flees to the Radnor boarding house during the shootout where he is killed by Elma.
