Lottie is the eldest McLeod child who harbors deep distrust toward her estranged parents. She accompanies her grandfather Gordie to the beach, where he passes away. Discovering the adults arguing inside, she returns to the shore and orchestrates a Viking-style burial with her siblings. Though initially questioned by a social worker about their actions, she ultimately receives parental backing and avoids being removed from their care.
