A lonely railway worker stationed at a tunnel signal box. He experiences recurring supernatural visions of a spectre that appears near the red tunnel light, warning him of impending disasters. Despite his fear and inability to telegraph danger without justification, he remains dedicated to his duty. His haunting ultimately leads to his tragic death on the tracks when he is paralyzed by the ghost's appearance and struck by an oncoming train.
