Successful author who retreats to a country house to write, but suffers from severe writer's block and childhood trauma nightmares. She develops a violent alter ego named Linda to cope with past abuse. As Linda takes control, Paula becomes trapped in her own home, eventually reclaiming control to warn others before dying in a forest.
