A tough youth initially sent to Boys Town by his imprisoned brother. He runs a mayoral campaign, clashes with peers, and leaves after a boxing defeat. Haunted by guilt after a tragic accident involving the mascot, he ultimately chooses the institution over criminal ties, confesses to protect it, and is elected mayor by acclamation.
