A New York police detective and Cathy's estranged boyfriend. He confronts Bill in Cathy's apartment, brandishing a weapon and ordering him to leave. The altercation results in Bill knocking him unconscious, after which Conover flees and later dies from his injuries. His dying confession of self-defense ultimately exonerates Bill and Cathy.
