The local village schoolmaster who collaborates with the Germans. He discovers Levade is hiding Jewish children and blackmails Charlotte into becoming his friend. He informs the Germans about Levade's supposed Jewish ancestry and ultimately betrays the boys' hiding location, leading to their capture. He is subsequently shot dead by Julien.
