A dim-witted small-time thief who gets caught after holding up an exchange booth. In jail, he drives cellmates crazy with endless chatter. He is paired with Ruby, adores him, fakes suicide to escape, and helps Ruby evade Vogel's men. They steal cars, break into mansions, and Quentin eventually tricks Ruby into promising to co-own a bistro.
Quentin is inadvertently dragged into Vogel's criminal orbit.
Both characters form a pragmatic alliance to flee incarceration.
