One of the two main protagonists conscripted in 1939. He and Léon embark on a perilous journey to return home, impersonate enemy and allied military personnel, join the Free French Forces in England, undertake covert missions in Syria, endure capture, and ultimately operate in France under dual allegiances between the resistance and Vichy propaganda.
