A British officer stationed in Dublin in 1920 who had a secret past affair with Norah Kerr. He fails to capture Sinn Féin member Peadar Conlan and is relieved by his friend Capt. Kerr. To save Kerr after he is abducted, Tennant forges Conlan's release order, commits career suicide, and surrenders to the general to face three years in jail.
