A naval officer who has an affair with Betty Brown in 1893, gifting her a family heirloom watch. Decades later, now a Captain commanding HMS Leopard, he destroys the German cruiser SMS Zeithen. After the battle, he examines Brown's belongings, finds the watch, and realizes Albert Brown was his long-lost son.
