A butcher living in a slum with his sister Rani. He initially dislikes but eventually loves his neighbor Selvi, agreeing to marry her once Rani is married. He clashes with politician Paramasivan over a bribery scheme, later discovers Selvi is actually Paramasivan's biological daughter, and ultimately saves Paramasivan's family from a bomb plot before successfully marrying Selvi.
