A widower and former police commissioner driver who joins the 15th squad to be near his terminally ill wife. Initially resented by Sipowicz, he earns the veteran's respect and they forge a strong friendship. Simone becomes Sipowicz's best man and dates Diane Russell. In season six, he tragically dies from complications following a heart transplant.
