Kirk's cowhand who accidentally reveals the rancher's breeding plan to gang leader Latimer. After recovering from an injury, he conspires with Latimer to hijack the Hereford herd by starting a stampede. Overcome with regret, he turns against Latimer during the ensuing gunfight, sacrificing his life to save the herd and thwart the outlaws' plan.
