The elderly witch (Holda) who runs the forest cottage. She invites the siblings in, teaches Gretel dark magic, and traps Hansel to eat him. It is revealed she killed her own wicked daughter and assumed her identity for revenge. She is ultimately burned to death by Gretel, causing her spells to fail.
