Wealthy, widowed American tycoon and Maggie's father. He maintains a very close, almost overwhelming bond with Maggie, which inadvertently alienates her husband. He secretly observes the affair between Charlotte and Amerigo but remains silent to avoid hurting Maggie. Eventually, he plans to return to the US to open his museum and places Charlotte in charge of the artifacts.
