A disgraced physician who allowed Rasputin to invade his home. Under the monk's hypnotic control, he is installed as the new court doctor. Later, he participates in a conspiracy to assassinate Rasputin by poisoning him. During the ensuing physical struggle, Zargo is fatally stabbed by Rasputin but manages to grab the monk's leg, aiding Ivan in pushing him out the window.
