Former deputy turned sheriff in the 1970s. He covers up a 1940s murder committed with Proctor. Haunted by the past, he confronts the gypsy brothers and engages in a shootout with Proctor. In a final act of redemption and revenge prevention, he burns down the cabin, killing himself, Proctor, and the brothers, embracing his former enemy in the flames.
