The protagonist who works as a janitor at Colonel Nutt’s mansion. He accidentally dumps garbage on the Count, comforts the maid, and defends her from the cook. Later he stays at a flophouse, evades police, and accidentally assists a pickpocket in targeting the mansion, ultimately surviving an explosion inside a kitchen stove.
