A hardworking bartender and Amarilly's initial fiancé. He secures her a job at his cafe but breaks their engagement out of jealousy after she associates with Gordon Phillips. Later, he demonstrates his genuine devotion by purchasing expensive violets for her, survives an accidental shooting, and ultimately reunites with Amarilly to start a family.
