A herb-picking physician who is saved by Susu. He falls in love with and marries her, unaware of her true nature. Given a demon-killing dagger by Fahai, he accidentally stabs Susu during a confrontation. He risks his life to retrieve a magical root from the pagoda to heal her, is temporarily possessed, loses his memory, but is eventually reunited with Susu.
