A paroled convict and gangster who becomes superintendent of the reform shelter after witnessing its corruption. He reforms the facility into a supportive environment, clashes with the abusive Krispan and former associate Mike Garvey, and hides after breaking his parole. He ultimately returns to save the boys and turns Krispan over to the law, accepting prison himself.
