A lawyer returning to his remote hometown after years of estrangement, he is forced to defend mobster Massonetti. He attempts to broker a deal to get Massonetti out of town, clashes with his brother Tippy, and ultimately sacrifices his own safety to outsmart the mob, driving a car into their getaway plane and holding the criminal until real police arrive.
