Jody's mother, who remains emotionally distant due to trauma from losing previous children. Initially perceived as unloving and unreasonable by Jody, she gradually warms up, helping build a fence to contain Flag. After Flag ruins the corn, she shoots him and orders Jody to put him down. Following Jody's disappearance, she searches desperately for him and eventually returns home, finally embracing him with maternal affection.
