A Scotland Yard inspector who initially pursues bank robber Dakin Barrolles. He later tracks Barrolles' army service and uncovers his facial disfigurement and impersonation of Sir John Lasher. Cork systematically exposes the impostor's scheme, returns the identifying locket to Sandra, and successfully intercepts the gold transfer orchestrated by Nazi spies. He ultimately pardons Barrolles for his military service and arrests the spy ring.
